Build a custom freestanding pergola with the Zen Pergola DIY Bracket Kit with Traditional Roof Rafters. Designed for a six-post, two-block configuration, this kit can accommodate pergola layouts in a variety of sizes up to 24' x 12'.
Choose between brackets designed for 4x4 posts with 2x4 roof rafters or 6x6 posts with 2x6 roof rafters. The traditional roof configuration places the rafters on top of the roof beams and allows for optional rafter overhangs.
The kit includes the structural pergola brackets and stainless steel #12 wood screws. Lumber and the anchoring hardware needed to secure the post base brackets to a solid foundation are not included and must be purchased separately.

Traditional Roof Rafter Design

Pergola Bracket Construction
Zen Pergola Brackets are designed for common lumber sizes including 4x4s, 6x6s, 2x4s, and 2x6s. The brackets are laser-cut and laser-welded and include pre-drilled holes for attaching wood and compatible accessories.
6x6 bracket components use 12-gauge steel, while other bracket sizes use 14-gauge steel. The brackets also feature a weather coating intended for outdoor use.
Lumber & Foundation Hardware
Lumber is not included with this kit. Wood for the posts, beams, roof rafters, and other pergola components must be purchased separately.
Anchoring hardware for securing the post base brackets to a solid foundation is also not included and should be selected according to the foundation and installation requirements of your project.
The kit does include the specified stainless steel #12 wood screws.
